Ben B Artist.
Ben Branson, known professionally as Ben B Artist, is a multidisciplinary artist based in Shropshire, UK. Born on August 29, 1988, in Birmingham and raised in Walsall, Ben’s artistic journey has been deeply influenced by the environments and urban landscapes that shaped his early years. His work explores the intersection of art, architecture, and the lived experience within social spaces, with a particular focus on urban planning and the built environment.
Ben graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the University of Wolverhampton in 2024, where his practice evolved to include a variety of media, ultimately leading him to specialise in the creation of intricate dioramas. Through these miniature worlds, Ben captures the essence of cityscapes, public spaces, and the way they reflect and shape human interaction.
A passionate advocate for street art and skateboarding, Ben’s work draws on the vibrant energy of urban subcultures, channeling influences from both the rebellious spirit of street art and the fluidity of skateboarding. This love for street culture is seamlessly woven into his explorations of space, movement, and the role of art in shaping our surroundings.
In addition to his visual art practice, Ben has been an active member of the Belfrey Theatre for over 11 years, contributing significantly to the local theatre scene. During his tenure, he has directed several critically acclaimed shows, won multiple awards, and sat on the board as chairman. His work in theatre extends beyond performance and direction; Ben currently builds and decorates sets, bringing his artistic vision and attention to detail to the stage.
Ben’s studio is based at the Belfrey Arts Centre, where he continues to develop his work in close proximity to the theatre and its vibrant arts community. This creative environment further inspires and shapes his approach to both visual and theatrical art, enriching his projects and allowing for cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Ben B Artist’s work has been featured in various exhibitions, and his unique perspective continues to resonate with those who share an interest in the complex relationship between people and their environments.
