Welcome to Big Ben’s Mini Marvels
At Big Ben’s Mini Marvels, we believe great things come in small scales—from crumbling city corners and fingerboard skateparks to industrial aesthetics, countryside terrain, and even small-scale furniture.
Based in Shropshire and run by artist and maker Ben Branson (aka Ben B. Artist), we’re all about celebrating the art of the miniature—urban, rural, or fantastical. Whether you’re building a gritty street scene for a tabletop skirmish game, crafting the perfect interior for your dollhouse, or just geeking out over the details of a tiny building—we’ve got what you need.
Browse our shelves for quality supplies, detailed kits, and handcrafted dioramas, or commission a custom piece that brings your vision to life. With years of experience in the world of scale modelling, street-style sculpture, and tiny storytelling, we’re here to help you turn small parts into something seriously cool.
Ready to build your own little world? Let’s make it marvellous.
Bullockstone Tower: Bullockstone Tower is a diorama of the entrance plaza at the base of a tower. The arhitecture has elements that would make for a good skate spot; the banks, the stairs with rail AND ledge, a bit of flatground, a curb, and a funky shaped planter.
Bullockstone Tower: Behind the Bullockstone sign, the local skaters show what they think of the 'no skateboarding' sign that was displayed in the plaza.
Monster: This model, both the figure and the wider piece it is part of, is an example of 'kit bashing' - the art of combining or adapting existing model kits to create something original. In this case, I took a set of soldiers from a stock kit, and used a 3D pen, plus some other bits like sponges, to create some miniature body horror!
Monster: The unfortunate soldier in place in the Pillbox Monster diorama. He's stumbling out of the pillbox in this state after being sent in to investigate a noise from within. What the hell did he find in there?!
Pillbox Monster: Here is the... thing found in the pillbox. Whatever it is, it did something to that soldier!
Pillbox Monster: Whatever that thing is, it's not their comrade anymore! Weapons drawn, the men try to fend off the monster.
Pillbox Monster: The monster engages the man nearest to it, the man is ready to open fire.
The Cell: The Cell was another university project, where I was tasked with making an artwork related to something brought in by another student. They had brought it a book called 'The Hostage'. I didn't much care for the book, and the description of a cell took up all of about 3 lines in the whole book, but it seemed a perfect way to encorporate dioramas into the assignment.
The Cell: A wider shot of the diorama, showing how new I was to making the circuits for the lights. It's important to remember where you started, so you can see how far you've come!
The Cell: This shot was taken through the viewing portal of the cell door, showing the interior from the perspective of an overseer peering in.
Summer Campfire: The vibes are a lot more chill with this piece; a lovely campfire in the summer. The fire is adjacent to a cabin, in which there is a desk, and a chair. I imagined this place as a getaway for creating art, where you bnring sleeping arrangements like a tent, or camper, and create in a space surrounded by nature.
Summer Campfire: An early attempt at making furniture on a small scale. I was pleased with how this item turned out.
